Holistic Pelvic Floor Health
Pelvic floor health is of vital importance to women, yet often we are not informed about how to successfully protect and strenghten this area before, during and after pregnancy until we have a problem. Over 50% of women have some sort of prolapse after giving birth , whether they had a vaginal or caaesarean birth. As many women don't know that they have this condition, they might be worsening their situation with inappropriate exercise and lifestyle choices.
Top Tip - sit ups, crunches and planks all increase the downward pressure on the pelvic floor, so are best to avoided if you are suffering from diastasis recti and/or pelvic floor issues. There are other ways to strengthen your core!
I offer holistic care and education for pelvic floor dysfunction. As I am not a physiotherapist I won't do any internal examinations, but can offer massage, postural advice and work with you to find lifestyle changes and exercise solutions for your specific needs.I can also signpost to other healthcare professionals who may be of help.
Don't suffer in silence. There is hope.
